elections. Trump for as much as I know didn’t have too many television ads. Hillary did have to compensate the lack of a social media and internet presence. Trump took over Twitter and most of the internet appeal but television is where Hilary shined. This is where she came out with her clever attack ads as well as emotions support ads to gain more voters. Although most of the voter base she was looking for (young adults and millennials) were found online she was still able to hit a broad audience. Most of the drawback from this was the cost to air these television ads. Money wasn’t a huge problem for the Clinton campaign though, as former First Lady she was able to draw supporter money was well as her own.

Used Katie Perry’s song, big because she chose a strong public woman figure, also an empowering song. Played the lady card in this one, which is pretty effective in this case. She mentions equality, and respect, higher wages, things that women have been fighting for a while now. As well as takes shots at Trump calling him out on a few subjects. Her video was also really pretty inclusive, men, ladies, kids, Black, Hispanic, children like all the people. But over all this ad was made to show how much power women have in our society and how we plan to give women more authority and work towards total equality.

Charged language used in her favor "dark and divisive". Making a lot of promises and really calling people to action. "It really is our mission together". She tries to include everyone in order to create unity as she moved forward. This was a real call to arms, even if she didn’t make it as president. She talked as if she were to win but in reality it seemed to come off as just a moving to the future type of presentation. She is still asking for votes, but since it was her last ad right before the election. Almost as if it was a last “hurrah” for the campaign

She definitely attacks Trump here and shows him in a super negative light. Example of the kids listening to all the negative things he said. Literally Trump talking about how bad Mexicans are in front of a little Mexican girl. This was one of Hillary’s better television add, calling out all parents and young adults looking to have a family in the near future. This ad was designed to show what America would be like if we let Trump parade around the way he does in front of the younger generations and how they will learn in a negative way from it.

Personally I feel as if the Role model ad was her best ad as well. It was the perfect way to use sound bites from Trump to use against him. Plus these were all popular topics when it came to talking about Mr. Trump. He was unable to defend against this because they were things he had said and even with the public apologies it cause everyone to have a

  1. The only thing I would have added is how Katy Perry was also a huge Clinton supporter so using her song is also playing the celebrity card. Clinton had many celebrities on her side and she could have used that to her advantage even more than she did. Because of the human psychology people care about celebrity opinions, as dumb as that is its the
    sad truth.

  2. I think Clinton's Role Models ad was one of her best ones. It really showed how Trumps hurtful comments throughout the campaign trail resinated with those potential viewers. Kids are our future and to have them be influenced by such a negative leader (Trump), its hard to be okay with that. I never knew she used Katy Perry, which was interesting to learn. Good blog!
