I for one really liked the setup of Hillary Clinton’s issue page. The issues tabs were pretty easy to follow and well laid out. The main
issues that seemed to be dealing with the economy and public health. Other
issues were national security, environmental, justice and equality, and
education. These were other tabs that you can click into and read about. These
tabs took you into a more in depth backing of what each subject had to deal
with as well as how Hillary had planned to go about fixing these problems. She
even included a section indicating what she would do as president. I feel like
it was a little crowded under the main tabs of issue on her page because there
was just so much to look through and that was a little distasteful. But it is
Hilary Clinton with most of her things being bland and boring. I’m surprised
that her issues were still up as if she were still running for president I assumed
that they would have been rewritten to address them as things she is currently
working on without the title of president.
When compared to Bernie Sander’s issues there were a
good amount of differences. It seemed that Bernie’s issues revolved more around
environmental protection as well as the economy. Bernie’s issues were also a
little harder to find than Hillary’s. Instead of having an issues tab you had
to go in to the “About Bernie” tab and see what his lists of priorities were.
Like I said before most of the things were the same as Hillary’s but I did find
it very interesting that at the top of his priority list was “Campaign Finances”.
I don’t know much about Bernie but I thought he was given most of his campaign
money through donations so I didn’t think it would be much of a priority for
him. With Bernie’s issues you could really see that he was pushing more of an environmental
stand point than an economic standpoint. Over all I didn’t really like either
websites but I guess I would have to give Hillary the better of the two since
hers was a just a bit better to navigate as well as it giving more information and
detail than the Bernie website.
When I google searched justice and equality there was
a ton of philosophical article that were trying to explain what it meant to
have a balance of both in your life. There wasn’t many article about it in
recent times, most of them dating back to 2014. So I had to specify my search
to equality in the media. But even after this the main thing I found was by The Guardian back in October 2016. Which ironically was prime time for the
presidential campaign and one of the issues Hillary was really pressing on. So
of course there was more media coverage during these times. Now that Trump won
id assume these issues won’t be deemed as important as it would have been if
Hillary had won the election.
