Hillary Clinton's Concession Speech was filled with a ton of emotion. It was definitely
one of her better speeches. She looked good. This was a concession speech, she
was conceding in the presidential race to Donald Trump. She did a good job
explaining that we as a nation have to accept and support our new president.
She reiterated that it is important to stay connected and humble as a nation in
order to accept this new national leader.
In
her ability to speak and present she, like all politicians, did well. This is
what she had been groomed for. Her eye contact, voice fluctuations and even her
facial expressions seemed to be in order and work well with her speech. A few
things she should work on is her body language. She still seems stiff and “robotic”
like most of the anti-Hillary supporters like to point out. She needs to be more fluid and maybe ad some hand gestures and other expressions that seem to
present her as rehearsed act, than someone really speaking from the heart like
she should be during this speech. I mean she lost but still seems to present
little emotion.
Throughout
her speech she seemed to try and keep an optimistic point of view when looking
to the future. She did an excellent job including as many, groups of people
(LGBT, minority groups, income class) in her speech in order to hit home with
as many people, not just her own followers, but everyone. She really tried to
pull everyone together in order to push us as a nation into the future of
becoming a better country.
It
was also nice that she thanked all the people that helped her during this
campaign, it’s true that she could not have done it all on her own, but it was
just comforting for her to share that her family really helped her out during
her times of need. It helped her sense of appeal for me at least and that kind
of helped her seem as if she did have emotions, she just did well at hiding
them.
I
personally think she should have spoken more about her Trump and how we should
all come to accept that he is our new president. She did touch on this subject
a little during her speech, but I feel as if she should have stayed on this
topic longer and really elaborate on what it us “accepting” Trump should look
like or at least give her own personal stake of how she plans to start
supporting Trump. Maybe explain how she plans to even back him up or figure how
she can help ease his transition into the White House or even how she can help
after he has settled in. This would have been a show of real character, to
accept the loss and move forward positively and help her opponent. This would
have hit home more with her followers who in turn could have turned around and
started to show some support and optimism instead of starting protests and
anti-Trump campaigns.
i chose her concession speech as well! I think she addressed her diverse groups diverse groups, known as her pantsuit nation righteously as they deserved her gratitude. I think speaking more about Trump would of taken away the point of thanking and showing there's still a positive outlook on our country. Yes, she said to show him support, but not to lose the values of our country to come together as one. I think a small one line about Trump is good enough for this type of speech given the situation.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely broke my heart to watch this speech </3. I think you did a good job dissecting the small details of her delivery such as her eye contact and facial expressions. You said she should have spoken more about accepting Trump as our new president, but do you suppose it's possible that may not be what she wants? She did say she did not find him fit to be President unlike any other opponent before him.
ReplyDeleteI agree that this speech was one off Hillary's best and I believe it was because she came off as very genuine. She showed some serious patriotism when saying that as a nation we should support our new president. I definitely had more respect for Hillary after this speech, as she was very respectful even though she does not like Trump one bit.
